Restaurant
Open every day, the restaurant sits on a terrace right over Little Armier Bay. This is the kind of spot where lunch has a way of turning into the whole afternoon, boasting incredible sea views and views of Comino and Gozo. Expect Mediterranean-style dishes with a strong seafood focus, alongside grilled mains and lighter lunch options, all served with that sea view doing a lot of the work. It’s built for a proper sit-down meal rather than a quick snack bar, and tables can be reserved separately even if you’re not booking a sunbed. Moreover, Tortuga’s terrace is open for evening dining from Wednesday through Sunday.
Kayak to Coral Lagoon
Rent kayaks from Little Armier out to Coral Lagoon, and it’s one of those things that’s better done than described; clear turquoise water, a rocky little cove, and none of the crowds you’ll find at the bigger-name lagoons on the island. How to Get There
Tortuga is in Little Armier, past Mellieħa town itself and further north near Armier Bay.
- From Mellieħa town centre: a short drive further north past the village, out toward Armier.
- From St Julian’s: roughly 35 minutes by car via the coast road or main arterial routes north.
- From Valletta: around 45 minutes by car, or via bus routes running north toward Armier/Little Armier.
